‘Don’t Be Sad’ Series – Remember Allah is with Us!

Bismillah

Assalamualaikum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatahu,

Al-Ghazali said, “If you see Allah, Mighty and Magnificent, holding back this world from you, frequently trying you with adversity and tribulation, know that you hold a great status with Him. Know that He is dealing with you as He does with His Awliya’ and chosen elite, and is watching over you, have you not heard His saying, “So wait steadfastly for the judgment of your Lord – you are certainly before Our eyes.[At-Tur 52:48]
This series was small attempt to spark hope in the hearts of people whose heart are in need of it and to serve as a reminder for us, for the sake of Allah.  The real help though can only come from Allah(swt), the owner of Peace. So establish your Salah and make immense dua and inshaAllah, you WILL see how Allah sets everything right for you and brings you out of darkness to light.

Let’s not forget, this world was never meant to be perfect. There’s no way that our lifes could be a cake walk for us. This life on earth was meant to be a test from Allah, who tells us about the purpose of our lifes in this world in the following verse of the Quran –

Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving” (Quran 67:2)

Trials and tests are a part of this life. They are a means by which Allah distinguishes each one of us and provides us with opportunities to increase our level in Jannah. SubhanAllah!

There is no point running behind happiness because by virtue “happiness” is like water, no matter how hard you try to hold it in your hand at some point it is going to flow away.  Instead we need to work on our relationship with the almighty, improve our deen (religious knowledge), do not leave salah and hold fast to our imaan; so that inshaAllah we are atleast at peace. The result of which is that even if something real bad happens with us we do not prolong the sadness, by the grace of Allah. We accept it, displaying true faith in the qadr of Allah, reminding ourselves the purpose of our life in this world and move on.

May Allah grant all of us this peace and help us be content with our lives. Let no storm be strong enough to shake our faith and trust in the Almighty and His plan for us, for He is the best of planners. Ameen.

On a side note, here are some additional suggestions:

I would strongly recommend reading articles by sister Yasmin Mogahed. Her article really give me some sense to why things happen the way they do and what is required of us to find true contentment in dunya so that it may benefit us in the akhira, inshaAllah. She also has a lot of audio clips which can be downloaded too. Please do listen to them.

Secondly, the book “Dont be sad” .. I just got this book few days back, so I cant  really give my opinion about it, but our muslim brothers and sisters around do recommend this book for everyone. So, inshaAllah, it should be helpful. Do get yourself a copy of it or you can download the e-book version from here.

Lastly, Brother Eddie of “The deen show” has some wonderful advises for us! I personally love this audio clip. It’s long but it covers all the good verses from the quran and hadith that will help one feel a LOT better! Download it and keep it with you, so you could listen to it whenever you feel low again!

Love you all for the sake of Allah! 🙂 Fii Amanillah!

Lots of Love & Peace,
Potential Hijabi

P.S. Keep smiling, “La Tahzan (Don’t be sad), Allah is with us.”(Quran 9:40) 🙂

    • Assalamualaikum Ayesha,
Firstly, alhumdulillah, I am glad this post helped you.
Secondly, I am not exactly sure why you are unhappy with the job, but there are a few things I want to put forward. 1) sometimes in life we are put in situations where we are not happy about it, but you know Ayesha life isn’t about all about happiness.. we need to break our mindsets from this world of perfection and start accepting things for what they are with their negatives, once we start doing that.. once we stop trying to grab happiness and just enjoy being content with the little good things that come our way.. it becomes a lot easier, inshaAllah!
      2) Allah says in the Quran He does not change the condition of people until they themselves change. Meaning only when you put in the effort to change your situation, only then will Allah’s help come. So what I would suggest you do in your case is find alternatives. If you are not happy start searching for a new job, don’t leave your job as yet though! But seek alternatives. There is lot of scope in freelance work too these days where you can stay at home and work! So find out what best job can you get which will keep you happy. Google jobs.. search locally and once you think you have found the right place, read istikhaara and go ahead with what you feel best about the decision! InshaAllah, Allah will be your guide and everything will turn out for the best! 🙂
Don’t lose hope, dont ever think that a certain job is hard for you to handle.. you never know what clicks and you might just like it!
I hope that helps sis! If I have got anything wrong then I am really sorry about that, coz since you didnt provide any details I may have got a few things wrong! Anything good in this is from Allah swt and anything wrong from the weakness of my nafs and shaytan!
      JazakaAllahu Khair! 🙂

This series is one of the best medicine for those who suffers from depression. I am suggesting adding couple of Surah with meaning (1) Suratul Falaq and (2) Suratul An-Nas keeps the sadness away.

Thank you!!! JzkAllah khayr sis. You are so helpful with this series.
Im just finding it difficult to accept manipulative people in my extended famliy who tarnish my character and others in a position to get what they want. How do I relate that to decree of Allah.
I so angry. It just drains my energy. Also knowing that I brought this person into my family😧
